Corey began her recovery journey in April of 2012. While in a treatment facility in Florida a group of young men brought in an NA meeting, one of the men was someone Corey went to high school in New Jersey with- this was the first of many “coincidences” that allowed her to have some hope she was on the right path. She became very involved in Narcotics Anonymous where she spent nearly every night for the first few years of her recovery. While being “clean” was a miracle- she was on a quest for more. Corey began training for a Tough Mudder and has since completed two. She fell in love with the gym and began competing in bodybuilding. Her bodybuilding journey also led her into the yoga studio where she became passionate about the physical and spiritual practice, as well as linking it to the principles she learned in Twelve Step meetings. The physical strength she built in her body- translated to strength internally which helped to repair the lacking self confidence that comes with active addition. With nearly eight years clean, Corey is a two-time, top 10 national level fitness competitor and manages the yoga program at a luxury health club. Her goal is to link her love of fitness to the world of recovery- because while being clean is a miracle- being healthy, strong and confident is something everyone deserves.
